Surviving Cancer A note from Dottie Mae:
The course of action my doctors chose for me was a series of 33 radiation treatments of a 6 week schedule. I knew for my own well being that I had to do whatever I could to make things easier so I decided that I would make myself, as well as the people helping me to smile.
I made it through all of the treatments. Then came, what I refer to as, graduation day. I naturally wore a cap and gown and a fun wig. As I received my certificate of completion, I knew that I was going to be a survivor.
Trials come to all of us, but it is our attitude that makes the difference. We can't control some things happening, but we can control our attitude. Thru it all, we trusted in Jesus and His tender mercies endures forever. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23:6) Dottie Mae was so touched from the support and love she received from family and friends. Spiritual Leader of Kol Ami Congregation, Paul C. Silbersher, wrote, "My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dottie Mae, that you may meet the medical challenges, that you are well, with God's help, and find comfort and healing." |
